Inspired by my inability to keep up with recommendations from friends, along with being a new user of Letterboxd, I wanted a place to remember all of these recommendations and have a medium to share how I felt with the person who recommended it to spark interesting discussions about our favorite artists.
This being a selfish personal project, I'm also going to impose my personal feelings about music on you. Music is subjective and should be shared that way too, not everyone is going to like what you like and that's ok! The goal is to expand your musical exposure and record your feelings along the way. For that reason, I specifically chose hearts for the rating system as opposed to stars, to emphasize that this is more about how you feel than an expert critique. Our feelings on music depend so much on external factors: our feelings towards the artist, who recommended the song, our mood that day... So don't let your friends ratings get to you and enjoy in sharing your favorite music 🎵
